Hi, I'm Dr. Brittany

Founder and CEO

In short, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey with a PhD in Psychology. I have been working with motivational therapeutic techniques for 12 years and working with clients for 9 years. I am an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) who utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Therapy, Play Therapy and Psycho-education to assist children, parents, adolescents, families, and couples in becoming the best mental, social, and emotional versions of themselves. It is my belief and experience that you get more out of life if you are willing to change and be flexible. Change is spurred by a feeling that something just isn't quite right, that something could be better, and that there's an issue you want to resolve. Therapy helps to assist you with making necessary changes, as well as, assists you with discovering and finding your place in the world around you.

Meet Our Partners

Collaborating for Mental Wellness

At Building Blocks of Hope, we believe in the power of collaboration. Our partners are integral to our mission of providing comprehensive mental health and therapeutic services. Together, we create a supportive network that enhances the well-being of our community. Each partnership brings unique strengths and resources, allowing us to offer a wider range of services tailored to individual needs.

Therapy Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT places an emphasis on helping individuals learn to be their own therapists. Through exercises in the session as well as “homework” exercises outside of sessions, clients are helped to develop coping skills, whereby they can learn to change their own thinking, problematic emotions, and behavior.

Exposure Therapy

Exposure Therapy encourages the systematic confrontation of feared stimuli, which can be external (eg, feared objects, activities, situations) or internal (eg, feared thoughts, physical sensations). The aim of exposure therapy is to reduce the person's fearful reaction to the stimulus

Play Therapy

Play therapy is to children what counseling is to adults. Play therapy utilizes play, children's natural medium of expression, to help them express their feelings more easily through toys instead of words.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation combines the elements of cognitive-behavior therapy, group therapy, and education. The basic aim is to provide the patient and families knowledge about various facets of the illness and its treatment so that they can work together with mental health professionals for a better overall outcome.
